Lisa Cumberpatch

Lisa found yoga almost 30 years ago. After some time away from her mat while raising her girls, Lisa found her way back after a knee replacement surgery. Searching for a way to feel “normal” again, Lisa tried her first Yin Yoga class. She loved how the practice made her feel better mentally and physically. Yin also improved Lisa's gait, and she credits it as a major factor in her successful recovery from major knee surgery.
Lisa’s true passion has always been teaching. She holds a degree in Physical Education, which provided her with extensive knowledge of anatomy, as well as an understanding of the importance of exercising thoughtfully and with care for the human body.
Lisa received her RYT-200 teacher training from Tina Lanzoni, and her RYT-500 teacher training with Pranakriya. Her teaching philosophy can be best summed up by B.K.S. Iyengar who wrote “If you learn a lot of little things, one day you may end up knowing a big thing.” Lisa strives to make yoga accessible, inclusive, and attainable for her students. She believes it’s important to demystify yoga to enable people to apply the lessons learned on the mat to their everyday life.
